It's never too late to turn to Him.
I’m not sure what your life story is. Perhaps you have:
walked with God in the past
never followed Him
told others about your dislike of Him
made sure everyone knew you chose to no longer follow Him
intentionally lived against what the Bible says
unintentionally lived against what the Bible says
been confused about who Jesus is
had major doubts
maybe you’re a Christian but you’ve been ignoring Him the last few weeks
Well if you resonate with any of the above, I tell you: it’s never too late to turn to Him.
And if you don’t relate to any of the above, I tell you: it’s never too late to turn to Him.
Do you know that God is for everyone? Perhaps you’ve heard people say that, but you believed that He’s only for certain types of people. Do you know that He loves you…and I mean with the most perfect and unconditional of loves? Perhaps you’ve also heard that but have struggled to believe it. Maybe you think that He couldn’t love or want you after how you’ve lived or treated Him.
But that’s the thing with God. His love is so much bigger than we can really comprehend. His grace and mercy never run out – no matter what we have or haven't done and no matter who we are.
I love these words:
The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; His mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning; great is His faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22-23)
His love never ceases. His mercy keeps on being given. Do you know that God forgives us? If we acknowledge and believe that Jesus Christ died for us, then we will be one hundred percent forgiven. He’ll make us clean. If we simply call upon His name, we will be saved (see Romans 10:9-13 as well as Acts 2:21 and Joel 2:32). There’s no other prerequisite.
You need to know: it is never too late to turn to Him.
Even if you, your opinions, or your circumstances have changed (as long as you’re alive, they’ll always be changing), remember that He remains the same.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)
Please know that as I write this, I am sincerely praying that you know (I mean, really know) that whatever decisions you’ve made in the past (whether an hour ago or ten years ago) and whatever mistakes you will make in the future, it always stands: it’s never too late. He will be waiting with open arms, ready to embrace you with His love and grace, ready to walk forward with you.
He loves you.
He has not punished us as our sins should be punished; He has not repaid us for the evil we have done. As high as the sky is above the earth, so great is His love for those who respect Him. He has taken our sins away from us as far as the east is from west. The LORD has mercy on those who respect Him, as a father has mercy on His children. (Psalm 103:10-13)
For the mountains may move and the hills disappear, but even then My faithful love for you will remain. My covenant of peace will never be broken,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you. (Isaiah 54:10)
I the LORD do not change…Return to me, and I will return to you,” says the LORD All-Powerful. (Malachi 3:6-7)
